What We Do
Precision Scratch Removal

Erasing the Signs of Wear
Floor scratches are an inevitable consequence of daily life in hotels, restaurants, retail spaces and residences. Dragged furniture, luggage wheels, high heels, dropped objects, and even grit carried in on shoes can leave visible marks on polished marble, granite, porcelain stoneware and other hard surfaces. Over time, these scratches accumulate and give the floor a tired, neglected appearance that is incompatible with luxury environments.
GFS scratch removal is a targeted repair process that eliminates surface scratches without requiring a full floor refinish. We assess each scratch individually to determine its depth and the appropriate treatment method. Light surface scratches (those that catch the fingernail but do not penetrate below the polished layer) can be removed with fine diamond hand pads (800–3000 grit) and localized re-polishing. Deeper scratches may require honing with coarser grits before re-polishing to match the surrounding finish.
For porcelain stoneware and glazed tiles, which cannot be polished in the same way as natural stone, we use specialized diamond polishing compounds and buffing techniques that restore the factory finish. We can also fill deep chips or gouges with colour-matched epoxy resin before polishing, creating an invisible repair.
On polished concrete and terrazzo floors, scratches are removed through diamond grinding and re-polishing using the same multi-step process as the original installation, but targeted only to the damaged area. We feather the repair outward to create a seamless transition with the surrounding surface.
Our scratch removal service is available as a standalone treatment or as part of a broader floor restoration programme. For hotels, we offer periodic maintenance contracts that include quarterly or semi-annual scratch removal sessions to keep floors in pristine condition year-round.
FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Can all scratches be completely removed?
Light to moderate surface scratches can be fully eliminated. Very deep scratches or gouges that penetrate below the surface layer may require filling with colour-matched resin before polishing. In most cases, the repair is invisible to the eye.
Will the repaired area look different from the rest of the floor?
No. We carefully match the gloss level, texture and finish of the repaired area to the surrounding floor. We feather the edges of the repair zone to create a gradual, invisible transition.
Can scratches be removed from porcelain tiles?
Yes. While porcelain is harder than natural stone, we use specialized diamond compounds and buffing techniques developed specifically for glazed and polished porcelain surfaces. The factory finish can be restored in most cases.
How long does the treatment take?
Individual scratch repairs typically take 30 minutes to 2 hours depending on severity. A full room with multiple scratches can usually be completed in a single overnight session. The floor is immediately usable after treatment.
