What We Do
Ten Specialized Treatments
Since 2005, GFS has developed a portfolio of ten core treatments that address every challenge luxury surfaces face: from daily wear and slip hazards to post-construction residue and deep staining. Each treatment is engineered using proprietary formulations, professional-grade equipment, and decades of hands-on experience across more than 500 projects in 15+ countries. We work on marble, granite, travertine, porcelain stoneware, terracotta, ceramic, natural stone and resin floors. Below you will find a summary of each service with a link to its dedicated page for full technical details.
- I
Anti-Slip Treatment
Our anti-slip treatment increases the coefficient of friction (COF) on polished marble, porcelain tiles, granite and natural stone without altering the visual appearance. The treatment meets DIN 51130 and BS 7976 pendulum test requirements. Ideal for hotel lobbies, pool decks, bathrooms and spa areas where wet surfaces pose a safety risk. The invisible micro-texture is permanent, does not yellow, and can be maintained with standard cleaning products.
- II
Marble Polishing
Professional diamond polishing restores the mirror-like finish of marble, travertine, and limestone surfaces. We use multi-step diamond abrasive pads progressing from coarse (50 grit) to ultra-fine (10,000 grit), followed by crystallization with oxalic acid compounds. The result is a deep, reflective shine that enhances the natural veining and colour of the stone.
- III
Scratch Removal
We remove light surface scratches, scuff marks, and drag lines from marble, granite, porcelain and polished concrete. Our process involves targeted honing with fine diamond pads, followed by re-polishing to match the surrounding surface finish. Suitable for high-traffic hotel corridors, restaurant dining rooms and reception areas.
- IV
Stain & Halo Removal
Targeted removal of organic stains, rust marks, oil halos, wine rings and water marks from natural stone and polished surfaces. We use poultice techniques with specific chemical agents calibrated to the stain type and stone composition, ensuring complete extraction without etching or discolouration.
- V
Surface Softening
Our softening treatment reduces the roughness of textured porcelain stoneware and structured natural stone, making surfaces smoother and easier to clean while preserving their aesthetic character. Ideal for floors that trap dirt in micro-grooves and are difficult to maintain with standard mopping.
- VI
Anti-Stain & Anti-Footprint
An invisible protective nano-coating that prevents stains, footprints and water marks from penetrating the surface. Engineered for high-traffic luxury environments, the treatment repels liquids and oils while maintaining the natural look and feel of the stone or tile.
- VII
Post-Construction Cleaning
Comprehensive cleaning after building or renovation works to remove cement residue, grout haze, paint splatter, adhesive traces and construction dust from all floor types. We prepare surfaces for handover to the client in pristine condition, ready for immediate use.
- VIII
Engobe Removal
Engobe is a fine ceramic slip applied during porcelain tile manufacturing that can leave a residual film after installation. Our treatment dissolves and removes this film without damaging the tile surface, restoring the intended colour, texture and slip resistance of the stoneware.
- IX
Epoxy Grout Removal
Epoxy grout residue left on tile surfaces after installation is extremely difficult to remove once cured. We use specialized solvent-based and mechanical techniques to strip hardened epoxy from porcelain, ceramic and natural stone without scratching or etching the surface beneath.
- X
Terracotta Treatments
Complete care for terracotta floors: deep cleaning to remove old wax layers, stain treatment, impregnation with breathable sealers, and final waxing or oiling to restore warmth and character. We handle both antique hand-made cotto and modern machine-pressed terracotta tiles.
